Jim,
Can I tell you something that really bugs me. Please don't take this personally because I mean it only in a positive way. I think the following statement most exactly demonstrates the excuses offered by past FPUSA volunteers as to why a United States National Youth Program does not exist.
"It can't be done within FPUSA's current staff and finances. This will require administrative leadership and funding creativity that we hope Hans can put together."
It bugs me when someone says outright that "it can't be done" when, in fact, no-one has ever tried. It bugs me too, Jim, when people make the effort to run for an elected office and wish for "adminstrative leadership" as though it was otherwise lacking.
Heck, from what I've seen, your writting skills and creativity are top notch. It's us, the FPUSA membership, that want to support a national youth plan created and presented to us by our elected officials that will make us proud to be members. Because you are an FPUSA Official, Jim, I am hopeful that it is your master plan we can support in creating the United States Youth Petanque Program.
From this point on, I am here to offer suggestions and contribute my efforts to assist in this most important endeavor.
