I do appreciate you opening up a channel of communication regarding juniors. I do appreciate the opportunity to help FPUSA establish a youth program. Let me elaborate on my short list of "Needs" from the FPUSA.
Having participated in youth programs before,it is a safe guess that 5-10 out of 100 will have potential for our sport,know it,and keep playing. Those 5-10 are competitive kids. They will ask smart questions. They will want to know if they can compete in a Junior WCQT,to be held next time around,2007,sanctioned by FPUSA. They will ask if FPUSA pays their juniors travel expense. I can see where a positive response by you to this request alone,written on FPUSA letterhead, would inspire a huge amount of enthusiasm by both young and old involved in such a future program.In our small town,where I would volunteer,I can see such enthusiasm spilling over into 2-3 teams from Sonoma(pop.9800)alone.If joined nationwide by just 10 communities, we could have a good thing going.
I salut you in your continued effort to show a positive side of american petanque on this forum.
