No, I'm happy to confess I've never come across "Tracktor" steel when playing, only petanque boules.
I have come across the odd player, usually very odd :-) using 800g boules. Just as easy to shoot as any other boule, some claim a heavy target boule gives you a better chance of getting a carreau.
