For Petanque-Sport, time is not important.
There are only two game formats:
In pools normally for qualifying games (for 3 or 4 games with barrage)and direct knockout after.

These two formats are not suitable for Petanque because we pay for our traveling and accommodation costs and we expect to play more than two games.

Also in Petanque-Sport, the final is normally play around 1am to 8am but since we are not paid to play Petanque, we have to work on the same Monday morning.

Petanque need a different fast game format with the maximum of games played in the shorter time.

For Petanque, to get the tournament moving along, the best format is the “Chronological Draw”, where we play against the first available opponent.
NO WAITING TIME, NO WASTING TIME.

Regards
Jean-Philippe
