ATX versus Bi-pole

I don't have personal experience with the Bi-Pole boules, but have had the experience of watching Marco Foyot have a whole pile of mismatched boules of every possible brand, weight, material and diameter in front of him, which he then used to perform petanque magic independent of which boule hepicked up. He did this twice at Florida events and also when I was with him in France.

Something tells me that it's kind of like Tiger Woods and his clubs.

We can buy all the equipment we want, but the skills don't come in the same box as the boules or clubs. My guess is that for all but the best players there's probably not a whole lot of difference between good equipment and the priciest available equipment. But then, to each his or her own (equipment choices and burdens on the wallet.)

In Boca Raton Marco said [in French], "You can buy my boules for $84.00. My arm is not for sale."

It's always wonderful to see people have fun and play well regardless of the boules they use.

I could buy the best boules in the world and still be at best a recreational player. Best of luck and skill to all of those of you who can justify the best of the toys.
