Interesting and good picture!
Basically, don't leave carbon steel boules lying around wet for any length of time. Wipe them with a dry rag and give them an occasional wipe with an oily rag.
Some boules seem more prone to rusting than others. If it's a problem, they will simply need more frequent care.
