Hi Mike,
The intention of my comparison between the French and the English versions was to show that the English version made more sense and did not lead to confusion. Some readers might remember that I previously questioned that part of the article a while ago, both on this Forum and on a Forum in France. May I take this opportunity to congratulate you Mike and your team mates on your good work on correcting this article.

But, IMHO, there is one more correction to be made to the French and to the English versions. By this, I refer to the use of the expression _boule shot_ to mean two different things.

From article 19, - “If a boule shot, or hit is stopped by a player, the opponent of the player who committed the fault may:
1) leave it where it stopped;
2) place it on the extension of a line which starts from the original position it occupied to the place it is found, but only on the playable area and only on condition that it had been marked.”
For this part of the article only, _boule shot_ means the boule that the shooter shot, not the boule used by the shooter.

From article 23, “ Any boule thrown contrary to the rules is dead and, if marked, anything that it has displaced in its travel is put back in place. The same applies to any boule played from a circle other than that from which the jack was thrown.
However, the opponent has the right to apply the advantage rule and declare it to be valid. In this case, the boule pointed or shot, is valid and anything it has displaced remains in its place.”
In this article, _boule shot_ means the boule used by the shooter! Boule shot should not be used in this article. I leave it to you, Mike, to find the correct expression for that boule.
Regards,

Note: I see that I used a different number (24) in a previous msg to refer to article 23. The reason this happened is that some articles in the two versions differ in their numbering.

Guy
