what are best boules grounds?

I would also advise going to see a variety of different terrains – part of the charm of pétanque is that every terrain is different, some fairly flat and smooth, others more uneven and challenging.

Also, talk to a number of *experienced* players, who have a good understanding of the game and what constitutes a “proper” terrain.

IMHO the most common faults are that terrains tend to be too flat and featureless, whereas the game is traditionally played on a more uneven, undulating terrain.

Good luck!
