Hi to all,
I have a set of the INOX (SS) CARA/Tortue and I use them mostly when the ground is wet or it's raining. Because of the unique surface I can get a better grip when the boules are wet. It is true that they pick up more dirt in the grooves but that's why we all carry a rag or towel. Even though the "turtle" boules are hard boules - 135 + they do tend to rebound less because of the internal structure used by MS. Under damp or wet conditions with a high lob you can make this boule "stop on a dime". I also use the 2110 and the X-15 models from MS Pétanque which are both soft boules, 110 and 115. I think after owning and playing with all major brands that MS makes if not the best then certainly on a par with the very best models from the other manufacturers. If you price the very top models from the other makers the top models from MS are less money to purchase. The "real" business that the Marle company is involved in is as manufacturers of prostetic limbs, joints, knees etc. in titanium and surgical stainless steel. Also as I undersatnd it they are a supplier to several Formula 1 racing teams for engine parts. Both of these areas of forging and working with metals are extremely high tech and MS has transfered their knowledge with their internal structure to Pétanque boules. I will continue to purchase MS boules. The only other boule that I truly miss is the JB M30. A great boule, I wonder why JB stopped making them? Only reason I can think of is when Obut bought JB.
Wishing all of you beaucoup carreaux!
