Boules in Hand Rule

Bonjour à tous,
I have a question about the boules in hand rule.....In a game of either doubles or triples with each team starting with 6 boules if the very first player moves the jack either out of a marked piste or beyond the 20 meter limit does the boules in hand rule apply. The result would be 1 team having 5 boules and the other having 6 the different is 1 boule or 1 point. Yes, No?? One of our players grew up playing Lyonnaise and he argues that the rule only applies when one team is completely out of boules. Any and all answers will be appreciated. merci d'avance,

Article 13 – Actions to Take if the Jack is Dead
If, during an end, the jack becomes dead, one of three cases can apply:

(i) If both teams have boules to play, the end is void.

(ii) If only one team has boules left to play, then this team scores as many points as it has boules to play.

(iii) If neither team has boules to play, the end is void.

Note that the official rules posted on this site is note the official rules!!!

Article 13 is pretty clear with this...

putting it briefly:

If the cochonnet is knocked to an invalid position, then the end is void unless only 1 team has boules left to play - and the # of those uplayed boules equal the points that team "earns"

Thanks for the clarification. As you stated this is how I understood the boules in hand rule. I just needed it in writing as some of my friends don't believe the rule as translated.
