The Balance of Boules

I imagine a boule to be measured for balance could be placed upon a type of teeter-totter (see-saw) with equal weights at either end and a slight depression at it's center on to which the boule can be placed. The "circle" of the boule's weld would run parallel to the teeter-totter's plane. If one part of the weld were heavier, than it'd fall in that direction.
