Each team has six boules 2 per person in triples 3 per person in doubles.
The team who is not closest to the jack throws until they have the closest boule or run out of bolues.
An end may go team a throws the jack and the first boule then team b throws the next boule
Then if team A is still closest team B throw again.
Petanque is different to many games in that the order of the boule being played is solely dependent on who is not holding the closest boule.
One team may throw several boule in a row.
When one team run out of boule the other team throw the rest of their boule.
As a team only has six boule the maximum number of points that can be scored in one end is six.
It is more common with equally matched teams to score 1-3 points in an end.
Is you can get to play with an experienced person it really is a simple game to get the gist of the basic game play.
Hope I haven’t added to you confusion.
Don
