Hi,
what happens if the last ball in game pushes the cochonet in a position not visible by standing in the circle (e.g. behind a tree)? Is it "dead" as if it happend in case there were boules left to play? Or does the points on the ground count, as no one has to play any boule anymore?
Thanks and greetings from Vienna
Florian

Article 9 – Dead Jack
The jack is deemed dead in the following six cases:
(iii) When, still on the terrain, the moved jack is not visible from the circle, as defined in Article 7. However, a jack hidden by a boule is not dead. The Umpire may temporarily remove a boule to declare whether the jack is visible or not.
IMHO, this article of the rules of petanque has no "if and but" therefore the jack is deemed dead.
