Our club is going to resurface the peists.
So the strings marking the terrain need to be removed.
Reading the rules there is only mention of the dead boule line.
In Australia it seems to be common practice to divide the peist into several individual terains.
While this may make it easy for people to claim their piece of terrain to play on.
Is it necessary for the individual playing areas to be marked to comply with the rules?
Can more than one game be played on a terrain at the same time?
A photo of the club can be seen at.

there is a second gravel area to the left of the photo.
The peists are presently marked so there are 8 peists side by side on each of the 2 gravel areas,

I have played or seen many terrains where many games are going on at the same time but without any markers to separate the pistes or playing areas. Of course, the play goes in the same direction (N-S) or (E-W) when there is a crowd.
Some places, if a boule crosses an imaginary line from the jack to the circle of the adjacent piste to the left or to the right of the one you are playing on, that boule is dead or null. In the case of the jack crossing that imaginary line, the end is over.
A dead-boule line is not required but may be installed or drawn up.
