I have played or seen many terrains where many games are going on at the same time but without any markers to separate the pistes or playing areas. Of course, the play goes in the same direction (N-S) or (E-W) when there is a crowd.
Some places, if a boule crosses an imaginary line from the jack to the circle of the adjacent piste to the left or to the right of the one you are playing on, that boule is dead or null. In the case of the jack crossing that imaginary line, the end is over.
A dead-boule line is not required but may be installed or drawn up.
