Hi,

Dont know if you are still interested in this or have had some success...

We set up a new club in Leeds http://www.leedspetanque.co.uk/
a few years ago. We got advice from the Northern Region of EPA
(thanks Alan!).

The hardest part is finding a piste, or land that can be turned
into one. A lot of effort (and money) was put in by the initial
members building a piste on part of a local school car park.
We funded it with membership and have grown to about 30
members now.

We are still there but looking for a more permanent home (our
piste is still a car-park for most of the day). We may try for
council funding this time no the club is established.

Approaching some local pubs (esp if they have gravel car-parks or large gardens) is worthwhile.

My parents are trying to set up a club in the north-east but
cant find a venue.

Best of luck,
Mark.
