The New Petanque – 3 boules of 1 point, 2 points and 3 points !
Rules of the game The New Petanque (restricted rules)
Rules of the game of " The New Petanque " are the same as standard rules of classic Petanque with the exception of the following:
Each player uses three boules of three different values:
· A boule of 1 value (1 point)
· A boule of 2 value (2 points)
· A boule of 3 value (3 points)
At each boules launch, the player is free to choose (with or without consultation with his teammates) the boule value among those at its available.
At any time, players cannot exchange their boules, and in triples, the three players from each team keeps the same combinations of two boules to the end of each run.
In the run end, the team, which is closest to the goal, scores as many points as the accumulated value of his boules which are in better position than the first boule of opponent.
A round is won by the team or the player (singles) that meets or exceeds 27 points.
When two boules belonging to opposing teams are equidistant from the goal (or touches it):
The higher value boule is considered the closest. If both boules are the same values, they cancel each other: they are not deemed to be placed * and are not counted.
This applies both so to the scoring run end of the game either to determine that, during the run, which team should play. If an equal position and value occurs early in the run (only one boule of each team on the ground), it is at the team that played first to start again.
*These boules, which are not considered to placed until when they are equidistant from the goal, are kept in the game until the end of the run however. Their relative position to the goal can possibly be changed by new throws and, unless new equality, then reconsidered as they are placed.
When the goal is out and there are still boules to one team:
this team scores as many points she still holds.
In triples, in each team, each of the three players uses a different combination of boules value:
player 1* uses a boule of 1 point and a boule of 2 points, player 2* uses a boule of 1 point and a ball of 3 points, player 3* uses a boule of 1 point and a boule of 3 points.
* This number does not match at a playing sequence which is free within each team.
For all other cases, it is the standard rules of classic Petanque which apply.
