I just bought my first set of boules online from Jaques of London. They're very nice, but their weight is not stamped on each boule. I see in the official rules that that they are therefore not regulation. I am in America, so mostly will be playing casually with friends and family, but is this rule really enforced? Thanks.

You've bought a set of 'leisure' boules, rather than competition boules. If you're just playing with friends, this doesn't matter but you can't use them in 'official' competitions.
See http://www.petanqueamerica.com/ for more info about boules.
