Good Day:

I am looking for references to jeu de boules, jeu provencale, or some other close variation in documents or art from 600ad to 1600ad.

I have plenty of doucmentation on the 1910 switch to petanque from jeu prevncale... am looking for older references...

In particular, if someone happens to know of documented rules back that far...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Just a note to let you know that I enjoyed reading Ray Ager's account of playing in Greece. It's fun to read the details of his games. I also enjoyed his account of his class with Marco Foyot a few months ago.

The Portland Petanque Club has their website up ( www.portlandpetanque.org). We appreciate your granting us permission to use some of your graphics, although I don't think we actually did use any of them. But, thank you anyway. We did include a link to your site, and I know from conversations overheard at our get togethers, that some of our 35 members like to visit your site.

Thank you for your wonderful site.
