If team mistakenly agrees on closest boule, is it binding?

this actually happened to me in the Australian championships. both teams agreed (the captains) and we continued playing then we realised that the point that we agreed on was wrong. it cost us the game by the end of it. but if both team captain agree then i believe that the agreement is binding. going back onto my example both captain believed the same thing so there wasnt any cheating involved.
