Carreau is the most difficult shot you can learn, but if you master it there is a bright future for you in petanque. The first prize in major tournaments is more than 1.000.000 FFR, and if you can shoot a carreau every time you want to it could be yours.
The shot is quite easy in theory: Hit the opponens boule directly with your own boule, and make sure that your boule stays in the same place that the other boule occupied...
There are many ways of doing this, but the essential part of it is that you should try to throw exactly the same way each time. Use the same movements, and do it at the same speed. Many players are very good at this at home, but in competitions they fail miserably. With a throw that is so "known" to you that it is almost automatic, there is a smaller chance that you mess it up because of pressure.
Many years ago there was no way of getting your pictures online unless you knew someone with a homepage. Or you mailed them to petanque.org, and we'd put it on the web for you. But nowadays nobody does this thing anymore, there are thousands of ways to get your images online, and our pictures-section is about as dry as the sahara. So we have had to make some changes
