Petanque

Dutch Petanque-CD released

2003-12-28 14:48

On Monday 15th December for the first time a new CD with thirteen (13!) songs on the game of boules was presented in the Netherlands. In France there are several songs on petanque, but there is not a commercial CD that is completely dedicated to the game of petanque. And we offer one of the songs online here at petanque.org, for all of you to enjoy!

The new CD, “Vive la pétanque”, is the initiative of the petanque club “De Schaafboulers” in Leeuwarden, in the North of the Netherlands. The club is named after the Music Centre “Schaaf” in Leeuwarden. The club has his domicile in the garden of this Music Centre and the makers of the CD, who are professional musicians, are members of the petanque club. One of them, Frans van den Borg, is the joint-owner of the Music Centre, which has its own sound recording facilities.
All thirteen songs are original and sung in Dutch on existing national and international well-known melodies.

Song No. 13 is available in MP3 format right here at petanque.org:
