New book about Petanque

As an outstanding popular game, the game of boules had his hour of glory at the beginning of the 20th century, at the same time as the photographic postcard. Through these amazing and particularly live snapshots, Yves Moreau proposes to depict the history of the game of boules.

A history of great exploits and small delights. A history made by a few champions and a lot of anonymous players. The book 'Les jeux de boules à travers la carte postale ancienne' (The game of boules by means of old postcards) presents almost 200 old postcards.
The book is divided into four parts: 'The game of boule lyonnaise', 'The boule players and Fanny', 'The boule venues' and 'Boule playing France'. By means of anecdotes and historical facts, Yves Moreau plunges us into the heart of a passion that has crossed all boundaries.

The book is available online as well
