Report from Chiltern - England

2004-03-29 05:36

The Chiltern Region of the British Petanque Association is an up and coming region and is growing in strength all the time. One aim for the region is to encourage new and existing junior players, coach, support and help them reach their goals.

Recently some of our juniors were invited to play a three-way competition against juniors from two other BPA regions. This was held at Harrow Petanque Club on the outskirts of London.
The weather was variable as it often is in England with out bursts of sun and rain.

Jeremy and Sarah Huntley from the Chiltern region came runners up in the finals of the doubles competition with the other two juniors from our region, Ben Gallimore and Tom Hutchins being knocked out in the semi finals.

The shooting competition was a very close thing Ben knocked Tom out of the competition in the Semi final. the final Ben had to shoot two coches one of which had to go over the boundary and go dead. The first coche was hit; the second coche was hit and stopped about 10cm short of the boundary.

The juniors represented the region very well and made us all proud.
